Breed #45 is the Exmoor Pony! Join me in England as I travel to the Exmoor Pony Centre and then go for a ride in the Exmoor National Park! Riding the oldest native pony breed in Britain, where the breed originated was an amazing experience!

  • This prehistoric looking pony is Britain's oldest native pony breed.

  • In the Domesday book written in 1068 there are records of ponies in the Royal Forests of Exmoor.

  • Before the 1850's they were called horse beasts as the term "Pony" wasn't known in the area.

  • The Exmoor Pony Society was formed in 1921.
