About The Breed:
Built to be flashy and elegant. The British Riding Pony is a breed that originated in the UK. In 1893 the National Pony Society was founded to promote the breeding of polo ponies and high-class riding ponies. The goal was to create the ultimate riding pony. They are a mix of Thoroughbred, Arabian and Native British Pony bloodlines, like the Dartmoor Pony and the Welsh Pony. The National Pony Society manages the stud book for the breed. To be registered, the ponies need to have three generations of acceptable, registered pedigree, on both the sire and dam's side.
Height can be up to 15 hands for the main stud book. They can be any color and they're used in a wide variety of different disciplines.
