The breed originated in the mountains of Kentucky.
They are naturally gaited and smooth to ride.
The classic coloring is a beautiful Chocolate with Flaxen mane and tail.
Other colors include Silver Grulla, Silver Bay (Red Chocolate) and Black.
Height range is between 14.2 and 16.0hh.
They are currently listed as, “Watch” status by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy.
